About Me

My photo
As a little girl I would make dresses out of pillow cases and colour them with crayola markers, spend hours scribbling shoes and dreamed of working in the fashion industry, not much has changed since then. Im studying at Limerick School of Art and Design which I love,in my third year of fashion design. My favourite designers at the moment are Haider Rick Owens, Hussein Chalayan,Iris Van Herpen,Stella McCartney,Steffie Christaens , Gareth Pugh and Anne Sophie Madsen (and the list goes on and on and on!). I am driven and excited about fashion and look forward to the future.

Gemma Ward

Gemma Ward has been my favourite model since I was 18. She looks like a beautiful unusual alien godess. I love her long pointy limbs and her beach kissed hair.
Very Versatile

Lately I was wondering where has she gone. I was shocked to read "Gemma Wards gone Fat". Basically she has filled out as all women do. The industry that paid Gemma 3million a year has now chewed her up and spit her out. In 2008 she was absent from catwalk shows, rumors started circulating that she had quit modeling. She graced the Chanel S/S 2008 catwalk and got slightly slated for being the"curvy girl". By modeling standards she is slightly bigger, in the real world she is a skinny minnie. With dreams of pursuing acting, I wish her all the best in the future.

Amazing Detail
Origami Inspired
Full Impact

As always spectacular! I will be designing at the Forbidden Fruit Festival in June. The garment must be made from paper. I think this of detailing would look great in paper.

Joanne Hynes/ Helen Steele 2011

Joanne Hynes and Helen Steele colaborative label launched at London Fashion Week entitled "Les Guerriers". Inspired by the West of Ireland and Steeles paintings.

I think this is actually one of my favourite collections at the moment. I just cannot look away. The colours marry beautifully with the textures. The silhouettes are powerful and feminine. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Stripey Stripes

Chanel, Alberta Ferretti, Pedro Lourenco, Cynthia Rowley.
Jil Sander

Stripes never go out of fashion they just get reinvented time and time again. I like how horizontal and vertical stripes are used together (Jil Sander) and also like the use of different widths of stripes (Prada). Sheer stripes are so elegant, sexy and sophisticated. Dear high street shops, can you please do a version of any of the above quickly : )

Danielle Romeril

Danielle a former student of Limerick School and Design gave a very inspirational talk at college this week. She started her journey at LSAD, then went on to receive her MA at The Royal. She won a competition for Swarovski for her unique and innovative design. Along her journey she worked for Amanda Wakely. Now she works in Italy for Alberta Ferretti, at what sounds like the most perfect job ever!!! I found her story inspirational,  a bit of determination and a lot of hard work will get you anywhere. : )

Lady GaGa Shoot for ID Magazine

I love this shoot, its completely Gaga, although still completely new. Photographed by Mariano Vivanco and styled by Nicola Formichetti for Mulger. I think the makeup is so creative, at first I thought she had face implants, it tricks the eye and makes you think. Really edgy shoot and completely original.
