About Me

My photo
As a little girl I would make dresses out of pillow cases and colour them with crayola markers, spend hours scribbling shoes and dreamed of working in the fashion industry, not much has changed since then. Im studying at Limerick School of Art and Design which I love,in my third year of fashion design. My favourite designers at the moment are Haider Rick Owens, Hussein Chalayan,Iris Van Herpen,Stella McCartney,Steffie Christaens , Gareth Pugh and Anne Sophie Madsen (and the list goes on and on and on!). I am driven and excited about fashion and look forward to the future.

Take A Seat

This is my first collection since I started college. My shapes came from chairs, which provided me with endless inspiration. I really enjoyed playing around with the shapes on the form, I had never done this before. I loved doing the research and putting the sketchbook together. I was very happy with my collection and the colour story. I really need to work on my drawings. Pratice pratice, practice!!!!

St. Josephs Street Prints.

For print we were asked to talk one photograph of anything on St. Josephs Street in Limerick. I love pattern, so I choose to take a photograph of a railing.  I wanted a close up of the image. I done both mono prints and dry point prints, I prefer dry points as they look a lot more professional.

Vivian Maier 1926-2009

Vivian Maier photographs of down town Chicago were recently discovered at an auction. The photos are taken between 1950-1990. She lived in Chicago for most of her life. The collection includes over 100,000 mostly medium format negitives, thousands of prints and countless roles of undeveloped film. The man who bought the collection wanted to learn more about Vivian, when he began to look for her he found out she had died a few days previously. He went to the camera shop, where she was a customer and people describe her as a private person who spoke her mind. I think she paints a very clear picture of what it was like living in Chicago.

It looks like the clothes are having a party. The lampshade skirt brings a big smile to my face. This is genius. I just LOVE her!!!

St. Martins College of Art and Design

These videos inspire me, I can not decide which one I love the most. Shape, texture and structure are all amazing. I love that both collections are white, it showcases the designs perfectly. Note to self, watch and learn!!

My First Ever Shoe Designs (age 9)

The cover of my "Look Book". I still have the same signature!

The Spice Girls obviously had a huge influence on  these designs.

Perspex heels with anything from a clock to a goldfish in the heel.

This was me trying to do a more sophisticated look for the ladies!
I was probably nine or ten when I drew these pictures. My mother kept them for me and I am happy she did. Its nice to look at them, I have always loved designing.
